The Silent Shore — scene 1

The coastal village of my ancestors has gone unnervingly quiet. No crashing waves, no bird calls, not even the wind. I, Skarn, must find the source before the stillness swallows us whole.

The Silent Shore — scene 2

I tracked the absence of sound to the jagged caves near the cliffside. The air grew heavy, thick with the weight of something heavy and ancient pressing against the very fabric of reality.

The Silent Shore — scene 3

Deep within, I found it. A massive, furred beast hunched over, clutching a glowing memory-shard. It didn't growl. It merely exhaled, and the sound of my own heartbeat vanished instantly.

The Silent Shore — scene 4

I raised my harpoon, ready to strike, but the creature looked up. Its eyes were not predatory; they were drowning in an ocean of sorrow, reflecting a life lost long ago.

The Silent Shore — scene 5

I realized then. It isn't stealing our voices to hunt. It is absorbing every sound in the world to quiet its own aching heart, drowning out the echoes of its departed kin.

The Silent Shore — scene 6

If I stop it, the grief will return to the beast with a roar that might shatter the cliffs. If I leave it, my village remains a tomb of eternal, suffocating silence.

The Silent Shore — scene 7

I reached out to comfort the creature, but the cave began to tremble. A new, discordant sound echoed from the depths, and I realized we were not alone in this grief.
